There are various food dehydrator models out on the market. Some are small for either cramped kitchens or single and couples without children who don't need a whole lot of dehydrating power. Some come with recipes, while others have a steamer insert or even double as a steamer so that you can have steamed veggies, rice and other goodies. Still others will come with special flavorings or seasoning packets to make your beef jerky or dried fruit taste even better than you could have imagined.
